With its sharp looks, iconic engine and top-of-the-range standard equipment, this RS version of the <strong>Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS<\/strong> takes the concept of the dynamic neo-retro roadster even further. At FCR Original, we took the time to examine it from every angle: <strong>design, technical, riding<\/strong>. The <strong>1200 cm\u00b3 parallel twin<\/strong> develops <strong>105 hp<\/strong> and, above all, <strong>112 Nm of torque<\/strong> from 4,250 rpm, offering a full, smooth power curve, perfect for committed riding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The on-board electronics are up to the task:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cruise control<\/strong>, handy for longer journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three driving modes<\/strong>: <em>Road, Rain, Sport<\/em>, each influencing throttle response, ABS and traction control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hybrid instrument panel<\/strong>: a classic LCD screen combined with a clear, customizable <strong>color TFT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bluetooth connectivity<\/strong> via My Triumph module (optional), enabling navigation, music and phone management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Triumph Shift Assist shifter (up only)<\/strong>, for clutchless upshifting.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignfull has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The eye of the design office: a balanced, dynamic design<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From a design point of view, the RS is a success. The FCR Original team describes it as a <strong>dress roadster<\/strong>: visually dynamic, almost aggressive with its plunging front end, but without ever betraying the neo-retro DNA of the Speed Twin. There&#8217;s <strong>harmony between the volumes<\/strong>, with a very exposed engine and a well-integrated intake.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>materials<\/strong> are clearly premium: <strong>brushed aluminum<\/strong> on the mudguards, headlight cladding and side covers, lacquered black accents on the crankcase. The <strong>pearlescent orange color<\/strong> is one of our favorites, with its vibrant, contemporary look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The small RS logo, discreet but well placed, underlines the whole. But it&#8217;s the <strong>cycle components<\/strong> that really stand out: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fully adjustable <strong>\u00d6hlins<\/strong> rear <strong>suspension<\/strong>, a rarity on a production machine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Marzocchi 43 mm upside-down<\/strong> front <strong>forks<\/strong>, also adjustable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial calipers<\/strong> for powerful, progressive braking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires<\/strong>, with impressive grip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Add to this an <strong>open-work fork crown<\/strong>, an <strong>aluminum swingarm<\/strong> to lighten the rear end, and <strong>controls taken from the Trident<\/strong>, and it&#8217;s clear that this RS is aiming for a <strong>high level of finish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The only drawback is the <strong>plastic chain guard<\/strong>, which is out of sync with the rest. A detail that can easily be modified in preparation. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignfull has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 51%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Feedback: a fun, agile and playful roadster<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Team members who have ridden the RS confirm the overall feeling: <strong>it&#8217;s a very well-built bike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>engine<\/strong> has character: supple at low revs, expressive and playful at higher revs, especially in Sport mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sport mode<\/strong> clearly modifies behavior: more direct response, less electronic assistance, enhanced feel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rain mode<\/strong> makes the bike very predictable and smooth, perfect for rough conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Road mode<\/strong> is the ideal compromise between liveliness and safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>riding position<\/strong> is natural and well thought-out for everyday use. The <strong>seat<\/strong>, a little firm, remains consistent with the roadster style.
