CAFE RACER BY FCR ORIGINAL<\/h2>\n\n

Some of you may have seen him at Wheels & Waves or in the June issue of Moto Heroes<\/a>. This is an unusual project for our motorcycle preparation workshop, a unique creation that stands out from our usual production<\/a>. Indeed, our latest project is the result of a bold vision and meticulous execution, both of which were essential to achieving this level of perfection.<\/p>\n\n

This exceptional creation based on a 1975 Norton Commando<\/a> testifies to the team’s expertise and passion for high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design. Each member of the team brought his or her own specific skills to bear, contributing to the successful completion of this mechanical work. Our workshop has always strived for excellence, and this project is a perfect illustration of this.<\/p>\n\n

FROM RESTORATION TO ARTWORK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The idea was simple: to create the ultimate caf\u00e9 racer. A streamlined machine, stripped of all superfluous elements, with a stylized, radical style that perfectly matches its fantasized image. The aim of this project was to capture the very essence of the caf\u00e9 racer, combining tradition and modernity. We wanted this caf\u00e9 racer not only to perform, but also to be a true artistic expression. Our initial discussions revolved around these fundamental concepts, and every design decision was made with these objectives in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this caf\u00e9 racer, our workshop chose an unusual base for FCR Original, which usually specializes in modern neo-retro: a 1975 Norton Commando Mark III. This legendary bike, known for its performance and allure, provided a solid foundation for our vision. The Norton Commando is an icon of British engineering, and we were determined to honor this heritage while adding our own unique touch. The selection of this base was discussed in depth, as we wanted something that would really stand out and provide a robust platform for our ambitious project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To bring this legendary British twin back to life, a complete restoration was necessary. Every component has been carefully examined, restored or replaced with top-quality parts. The restoration process was long and meticulous, with every step carried out with unfailing precision to ensure that the caf\u00e9 racer would not only look good, but also perform reliably. We spent hours researching and selecting the best parts available, often consulting experts and browsing specialist catalogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Once the design was finalized, the hunt for parts began. Our plan was to build a beautiful object capable of rolling. The mechanics were therefore dismantled and completely renovated. From the crankshaft to the cylinder head – on which a Y-shaped intake pipe was installed. With a single common carburetor, the twin looks even narrower – from the pistons and segmentation to the oil pump, we’ve refurbished everything. With quality parts, selected in England where we have our networks. “<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attention to detail and meticulous sourcing of parts have been crucial in guaranteeing the optimum performance and aesthetics of this unique caf\u00e9 racer. Each component has been carefully selected to ensure it meets the highest standards. CAFE RACER BODYWORK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A great deal of time and expertise went into creating this unique caf\u00e9 racer, particularly in bringing the two body components to life. The bodywork was a major challenge, requiring a high level of precision and craftsmanship. Working with aluminum sheet was particularly demanding, requiring hours of shaping and welding to achieve perfect curves and impeccable finishes. We also used modern techniques, such as 3D modeling, to fine-tune every detail before manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To tackle this problem, the workshop chose to work with 3D modeling, starting from the designer’s sketches. This unusual approach combines traditional craftsmanship with modern tools, offering unprecedented precision and creativity. This innovative approach enabled us to visualize and refine every detail before manufacturing, guaranteeing a perfect result. 3D modeling was an invaluable tool for ensuring that each element would fit harmoniously into the overall design. This step also enabled us to make adjustments in real time and avoid costly mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the shape had been defined, the two aluminum sheet elements were shaped by hand over many hours, before being welded together and carefully polished. Every step of the process was carried out with meticulous precision and attention to detail, reflecting the workshop’s commitment to excellence. The final polish has given the caf\u00e9 racer a shine and purity that are the hallmarks of our expertise. We documented every step of the process to ensure that every detail was in line with our vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final result is one of great purity, the reflection of meticulous, passionate work. The caf\u00e9 racer is a true work of art, combining refined aesthetics with exceptional technical performance. Every detail, from the bodywork to the mechanical components, has been designed to create an unrivalled visual and driving experience. ATTENTION TO DETAIL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the technical side, the caf\u00e9 racer is fitted with an elegant Ceriani fork, surrounded by an 18-inch Borrani rim; the same size on the rear axle gives this caf\u00e9 racer a perfect horizontality. This configuration ensures optimum stability and handling, essential for an exceptional driving experience. The suspension has been fine-tuned to deliver unrivalled comfort and performance. We spent a lot of time fine-tuning and testing these components to ensure an exceptional ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hubs on which the aluminum rims are spoked are a workshop creation. Each hub has been designed and manufactured with extreme precision, guaranteeing perfect integration with the other components of the caf\u00e9 racer. The carefully selected shelves add a final touch of technical sophistication. We have also worked with specialized suppliers to obtain the best raw materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in line with the fork, the tees have been given a new surface treatment and feature the brand’s elegant logo. This detail adds a final touch of sophistication, underlining the expertise and attention to detail of the FCR Original workshop. The precisely engraved logo is a symbol of our workshop’s commitment to quality and innovation. We chose this specific surface treatment for its durability and aesthetic appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
