Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster – When FCR Original redefines the art of French customization
The Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster makes its debut in the FCR Original range
Between British elegance and French audacity, FCR Original has created a new bike that pushes the boundaries of custom.
The Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster, the emblematic cruiser of the Triumph range, finds here a second birth. Sleeker, darker, more radical, it embodies the singular vision of a French workshop that has become a world benchmark in custom preparation.

Two worlds meet
It all starts in Chauvigny, in the Vienne region, at the heart of the FCR Original workshop. Here, motorcycles aren’t simply modified: they’re reinterpreted. Each project is born of a meeting between a machine and an idea. This time, it was the Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster that inspired the team. A symbol of English cruising, designed for long roads and elegant lines.
“We’d never worked on a Speedmaster before,” says Yohann, workshop manager at FCR Original. “It was an exciting challenge. We wanted to preserve its soul while giving it a new identity, racier, more coherent, but still true to the Triumph spirit.”
The aim was not to betray the original bike, but to transcend it. To reveal its hidden potential through work combining technical rigor, attention to detail and French craftsmanship.
The story of a customer and a desire to share
The idea for this preparation didn’t come from nowhere. The owner, a British motorcycle enthusiast, already owned two exceptional machines: a Bobber TFC, prepared directly by Triumph, and a Bobber Classic, signed FCR Original. Two sublime bikes, but designed above all for solo riding.
This time, the desire was different. He wanted a bike that could take a passenger, without sacrificing the elegance and authenticity of a Bobber. The Speedmaster was the obvious choice: a Triumph designed from the outset for two-up riding, already homologated and perfectly balanced for the road.
“He simply wanted to share the road. But in his own way,” explains Alex, designer at FCR Original. “We wanted to create a motorcycle capable of traveling far, for two, while retaining that raw, emotional side we love about FCR preparations.”

Transforming without erasing
At FCR Original, transformation is always guided by a clear philosophy: to sublimate the existing without distorting it.
The Speedmaster’s original design has been respected, but every element has been reworked with almost obsessive precision. The mudguards have been redesigned, the seat redesigned for the comfort of the duo, and the exhaust line replaced by an FCR Original Street creation with a deep, elegant timbre. The workshop’s signature paintwork completes the metamorphosis.
Black dominates. Satin black, gloss black, deep black. This deliberate contrast plays with the light, revealing the motorcycle’s taut forms. On this dark base, a few touches of brass and gold underline the nobility of the craftsmanship.
The fuel tank is an immediate eye-catcher. Intense burgundy from FCR’s in-house colorimetry laboratory, it becomes the visual heart of the bike, a piece of jewelry in its own right.
“We work on each shade like a living object,” confides Céline, head of the paint workshop. “Our paints never come from a color chart. They’re created here, tested here, and applied by hand. It’s our way of signing each bike.”
The goldsmith’s work of the workshop
Underneath the elegant surface, mechanical know-how is omnipresent. FCR Original worked on a new base, completely disassembled and redesigned.
The 1200 cm³ twin-cylinder engine, already remarkable from the outset, retains all its nobility but gains in character thanks to a K&N intake and in-house exhaust. The sound is full, muffled and lively. A breath of controlled power.
The chassis, too, has benefited from meticulous attention to detail. The spoked wheels, now 17 inches, enhance the Bobber’s visual compactness. Michelin Road 6 tires ensure perfect grip on the road, while the inverted fork derived from the Thruxton, anodized black with gold tubes, adds a sportier feel.
At the rear, EMC Road 1 suspensions, developed in collaboration with the French specialist based in Villeurbanne, guarantee exemplary comfort and stability, even for two-up riding.
Brembo front brakes, combined with Moto Master discs and pads, ensure controlled power, while LSL handlebars and anodized bridges offer a natural riding position, ideal for long distances.
Nothing has been left to chance. Every part, every screw, every cable has been thought through to find the right balance between aesthetics, performance and ergonomics.

Clean, intuitive electricity
The Speedmaster’s electrical world has been treated with the same exacting care.
Motone’s compact, black-anodized comodos offer intuitive, minimalist control. The headlight, repainted and fitted with white glass, evokes the classic lines of old Triumphs while blending perfectly with the modernity of the preparation.
At the rear, Motogadget’s signature Mini-Bates 3-in-1 lights, integrating turn signals and brake lights, add a sleek, contemporary touch. Even the original speedometer has been reworked, repainted and repositioned to match the overall aesthetic coherence.
A unique motorcycle, ready for anything
Unlike many exceptional preparations, the Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster by FCR Original is homologated, comes with a two-year warranty and complies with all current standards.
It can be sold worldwide and is designed for everyday use, on the road or over long distances.
It’s a craftsman’s bike, yes, but it’s also a lively, reliable machine, ready to eat up the miles without giving up its uniqueness.
“We want our customers to be able to ride, travel and feel,” confides Alex, “An FCR Original isn’t just a collector’s item. It’s a companion on the road.”
Behind this machine lies an entire workshop.
Designers imagine, mechanics adjust, craftsmen manufacture, painters sublimate. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is improvised.
Each bike is the fruit of a collective effort, a constant dialogue between technique and emotion.
This is what sets FCR Original apart in the custom landscape: a French motorcycle workshop where excellence in craftsmanship and passion for detail come together to give life to exceptional machines.

The TRIUMPH spirit by FCR Original
The Triumph Bonneville 1200 Speedmaster prepared by FCR Original is not a simple transformation. It’s a philosophy.
That of a workshop that sees in each motorcycle a story to tell, a character to reveal.
FCR Original never imposes its style: it shapes it around the machine’s soul and the rider’s desires.
The result, always unique, is a work of balance between tradition and modernity, power and softness, elegance and boldness.
“We don’t design to please everyone. We create for those who like to feel, to vibrate, and to ride differently.”
These words from Yohann probably best sum up what this Speedmaster represents: a tribute to freedom, craftsmanship and pure passion.
