A MOTORCYCLE WORK OF ART

« A MOTORCYCLE WORK OF ART »
THE CLOUD XXIX

The Cloud project is the result of the merger between the artist Alain GODON and the FCR Original motorcycle design workshop. Propose a unique work, shaped by the collaboration of two prestigious names, each authoritative in their respective fields. The Cloud project is also and above all the meeting of two classic motorcycle enthusiasts: Alain GODON and Sébastien GUILLEMOT (CEO of FCR Original).

Two men wanting to combine their worlds for an extraordinary creation.

At The Meeting
Of Two Universes

Alain Godon is a French painter and sculptor. Very young he discovered a passion for drawing, stone and the urban landscape.
Recognized as a visionary, he will have to work tirelessly for several years to forge, with brushstrokes, a style and a technique that will lead to his first major exhibition in Le Touquet in 1996.

A hard worker, he is also a perfectionist in his formalism. Thus and since 1996, dozens of exhibitions in prestigious galleries of Lille, Paris, Amsterdam, Denver, New York will be devoted to him. Museums also open their doors to him and books on his work follow one another.

Alain GODON and Sébastien GUILLEMOT shared a common vision of the project: to create a work of art made for adventure.
The creation, if it had to be admirable, had to awaken the pleasure of the ride and the desire to explore new horizons.
In addition to the aesthetic aspect, the Cloud is a real mix of universes: from a drawing made by Alain GODON, the workshop has been able to remain faithful to the inspirations of the artist while retaining the label of the workshop to create a work unique art.

« I only collaborate for my work with the best. So I asked Sébastien GUILLEMOT to carry out with his team my work of art motorcycle project. I know that with the expertise of FCR Original by my side, “Cloud” will become a unique work of art…»

Alain Godon, French painter and sculptor

From England
to California

The workshop immediately turned to an icon of British motorcycling: The Triumph Bonneville T120. A silhouette and a legendary style magnified by FCR Original for a result at the crossroads between Abbey Road and Sunset Boulevard. The objective of the creation? Pay homage to “California by night”. The painting of the tank by Alain GODON, using the iconic elements of his paintings, transports us to the heart of Los Angeles: from Venice Beach to Sunset Boulevard via Rodeo Drive, this motorcycle is an invitation to travel.

A Prestigious Know-How

To carry out this project, FCR Original knew how to mobilize the most prestigious know-how for a result worthy of the collaboration.
Central point of the realization, the tank, before being entrusted to the hands of the artist was chromed then covered with a black chrome varnish in order to give depth and relief to the design.
Several elements of the machine (crankcase as well as all the engine covers) have been engraved with Alain GODON’s iconic clouds.
The work also required the production of several 100% custom-made parts (mirrors, wheel flange, moon tank cap, fender emblem, etc.) in addition to the original parts modified by the workshop.
The “Café Racer”-inspired saddle was made to measure with a backrest and seat embroidered with the number XXIX, the common thread of the motorcycle.

And Now?

The story doesn’t end there, since the bike made the trip across the Atlantic to join a prestigious art gallery in California. It was also the centerpiece of Alain GODON’s opening on April 9, 2022. It will continue its journey by traveling through the United States before returning to France in 2023.
